"Read the best books first because you don't have time to read everything." (Author unknown)
This has always been one of my favorite quotes. When a group of my friends had the idea of all of us reading the Twilight series I spewed out this quote. I normally have an aversion to all things scary and upsetting when it comes to entertainment! Vampires definetly fit into that category! On top of that I have LOTS, let me repeat LOTS, of great books waiting in the wings. The last scary movie I saw was Cujo and I think the year was 1986 and my husband has scars to prove it! After witnessing the frenzy over Twilight I decided to see what all the fuss was about. It was compelling and not too scary! Now, I haven't read fiction in about 10 years! I usually am so aware of all the things I need to change and fix about myself, along with the desire to grow, that I rarely read fiction. Fast forward to last Friday night. I went with a group of 10 people to see Twilight on opening night. What a FUN experience! The anticipation, excitement, and electricity of the audience was powerful! There was clapping and cheering at the beginning and end and much understood laughter and audience reaction as the story unfolded! On top of this, I was there with a few of my closest friends! What could be better? So, I would include Twilight in my list of one of the best books I have read. Although it will likely not become a literary classic, it is a great classic love story that was not only worth my time, but it enriched my life! There are lots of great lines, one of my favorites being, "If you could live forever, what would you live for?"
